to the web site of First Baptist Church of Columbus. If this is your first time to
visit, we hope you'll find the site helpful in getting acquainted with First
Baptist. Once you've gotten acquainted, we hope you'll worship with us soon in order
to meet us personally. We're a friendly bunch of people eager to know you and
fellowship with you. Our doors are open to
all, regardless of where one is on his or her spiritual journey. Together we're an
active, involved, and growing group of believers and seekers. And our desire is to
reach out with God's love to all people and help them find and follow Jesus Christ.

Current Reflection
"Living Our Way Into New Ways
of Being"
Several of our ministry groups
and participants here at First Baptist will be traveling this summer, not just for
pleasure, but to lend a hand or share in ministry. The Glad Ringers Bell Choir takes up
their 18th tour in early June. Another group heads off to Green Lake Conference Center in
Wisconsin for a work week. And our church-wide "Faith in Action" day (a day of
partnership and service alongside several community agencies) is being planned for August
6th.
We, like many congregations, find ourselves providing
these "hands on" opportunities for mission, service and faith development. Why?
A phrase that I have come to own as my own through my graduate studies is how we often
"live our way into new ways of thinking or being." This, I believe, is the
spirit and purpose of hands on mission. Whether it happens in Mexico (as it did for a
group from FBC last summer) or closer to home, it’s as we get involved and immersed
in mission with others that we begin to be changed ....... Click here
